Gold Cup, Club World Cup Unsuccessful Sting Operations for Mass Deportation
Planned as magnets to attract undocumented immigrants, the FIFA-ICE partnership proved a failure.
Miami, FL - With the FIFA Club World Cup principally taking place on the east coast and CONCACAF Gold Cup mostly taking place in the west coast, the Department of Homeland Security under the Trump regime thought they had the perfect “pincer movement” for their mass deportation sting operation. Unfortunately, when planning the events, both FIFA and the DHS forgot that they were targeting vulnerable, working class, people. This was made apparent when games were scheduled in the middle of work days with ticket prices reaching up to USD$2,200.
“I am here illegally to purchase weapons on behalf of my US-backed militia in the Middle-East. And I thought I would drop-in for a football match since the stadiums were empty and I could conduct my business there. I was apprehended by an ICE agent, but they released me immediately once they recognized my blood lust and affluence” said an attendee after the Real Madrid-Juventus match at the Hard Rock Stadium.
