European tourists put off by Canadian civility amid USA travel boycott
“We don’t feel better than these Canadians. We don't want to visit our former colonies and see they're fine without us.”
Squamish, BC - Canada has seen a surge in tourism this summer with many around the world who are angry with the Trump regime and are, therefore, choosing to boycott travel to America. And while the language, architecture, and genocide of indigenous populations is familiar in Canada for tourists who have visited USA, European tourists have been mourning the ability to talk down to Americans about their domestic and foreign policy.
“We are not enjoying this boycott of USA. Not travelling to America has been difficult and substituting it by visiting Canada has made it harder. We don’t feel better than Canadians. When we travel, we like to visit places that help us mourn our fallen empires by criticizing our former colonies. We miss USA and Americans and their lack of social programs that can break the stratified class systems we kickstarted for them.” says French tourist outside 1914 Coffee Company
